SKELETAL
CONSTRUCTION
(Temporary Bus Shelter)
Students are required to form a group of 5-6 in respective tutorial group and design a temporary bus shelter by choosing a suitable material and using its construction joints. The marking criteria is depends on the stability of the 1:5 models and the workability of the construction joint using and also a report including all the above mentioned and the modelling process.
Here we had come out a simple design with triangular bracing and double roof with recycle timber after discussing for several design and materials.
PROJECT 2
Understanding Forces in Building Construction
This project required students to group in 3-4 person and choose a building with gridshell structure to investigate the system and force distribution. Students ned to identify of basic structural systems in construction, differentiate in terms of loads and forces acting on structural elements.Recognize and apply the implications of construction system in design and also analyse the issues of strength, stiffness and stability of structures including modes of structural systems, forces, stress and strain and laws of static.
