PROJECT 1: FAMOUS PEOPLE, FAMILIAR FACES - DIAGRAMMATIC ABSTRACTION

This project is designed o investigate and to explore how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics.- solid, planes, lines and frames. In a group of 5, we were asked to produce a complete set of architectural drawings for Adolf Loos' Villa Muller. Then, we investigated the building architecturally and formulated the findings into 10 analysis diagrams and 10 diagrammatic models.

SITE VISIT : CAPE RACHADO

The whole class of Sem 2 students went on a three days 2 nights site visit to Cape Rachado, Port Dickson to carry out site analysis on two different sites that were located to us respectively. This site analysis of the physical context within the overal site is needed to determine our later on's design (Project 2A: Observation Deck, Project 2B: Retreat House). I was allocated the task on analysing the climate studies on Cape Rachado's Site B and below is the presentation slides did by our whole group:

PROJECT 2A: INTRODUCTION TO SITE ANALYSIS + OBSERVATION DECK @ CAPE RACHADO

Through architectural conceptualisation, the aim of this project is to generate structure, form and space with the emphasis on the user requirement, ergonomics and site responding to develop an architectural proposition. In a group of 2, we designed an Observation Deck (with a maximum volume of 30m3) with the idea of creating a space suitable for adventurous personalities.

PROJECT 2B: RETREAT HOUSE @ CAPE RACHADO

Then, with a given character, I further developed my project 2a into a retreat house at Cape Rachado, Port Dickson. A place affording peace, quiet, privacy and security’ ..... where its occupant(s) would reside for a short period of time, by exploring the relationship between architectural tectonics, function and space in architecture.
